Basketball Wives 5/7: Royce is very needy to no one’s surprise, beautiful Tahiti, Tasmanian Tami’s misplaced anger, Jennifer and Kenya missed the first fight

We picked back up with Royce and her dad at the park. Royce continued to sob and become hysterical. Royce wanted her dad to be proud of her, but that had nothing to do with his concerns. He is proud of her, but her neediness when it comes to men is what he is concerned about. Royce asked for a hug and got one, but still cried.

We had far less conversations this week and more so events for each some of the characters to go to. Tami went to anger management. Tami is very proud that she has held herself together lately and not become violent. She expressed her anger towards Kesha, but I didn’t see her side of things. Kesha never said bad things about Tami, just about Tami’s attitude towards her and her verbal attacks. Tami thinks she has been the peacemaker this season.

Royce, her dad, and Dezmond went to dinner to get some things out on the table. Royce’s dad thinks his daughter is needy and Dezmond confirms that she is over the top needy sometimes. Royce flips out at that comment and vows to go back to her old self, who is needy and uses men for self-esteem, oh wait that’s what she is now. Royce then stormed out, but Dezmond caught up to her.  Dez is a smooth guy and he tells her that he is crowed sometimes. She is mad that he picked this time to tell her that. Royce continued to cry and Dezmond was not having it. Royce’s mouth is kinda weird, am I the only one that sees that? It is hard to watch sometimes. It’s like there is a permanent smile on top of an under bite.

Chad and Evelyn then had some pillow talk. Chad was feeling sick, but he was still waxing poetic about Evelyn’s vagina. They also talked about their wedding more and the honeymoon. They compared baggage and despite being a large part of one of the biggest financial meltdowns in professional athlete history, Evelyn claimed Chad had more baggage. Chad then lost his mind and went on a long rant about his love for Ev.

Evelyn and Tami went for a walk to discuss Tami’s anger management sessions and Evelyn’s need for some therapy for her anger. Evelyn always goes from one to 10 on the anger meter and therapy would help that. Evelyn contemplates it because she has felt violated before and has serious trust issues to work out.

The major event this week was a trip for all the girls except Royce. Tami, Kesha, Shaunie, Evelyn, and Suzie were on the same flight and took the car to the resort. Tami called out Kesha’s coughing manners. Proper cough covering techniques were presented to Kesha. Suzie continued to think cannibals were still around in Tahiti and she planned on feeding Kenya to them if Kenya even showed up.The scenery was amazing. With crystal clear blue water, lush green trees and shrubs, and the clearest skies I have ever seen. The place looked like the definition of paradise and the women were very welcomed at their resort. Dancers and a band followed them all the way to their doors, which made Shaunie a bit uncomfortable.

The first dinner was a pleasant one as the girls planned a prank for Kenya’s room. The ladies discussed Jenn’s actions again. Tami said she hates lawyers and police, so she though Jenn crossed the line. Kesha tries to spark conversation, but did so in an awkward manner. She asked the girls for their highest and lowest moments of 2011. It was not exactly as campy as a game of Truth or Dare would have been.

The girls took a boat out to swim with stingrays and sharks, but only Suzie and Kesha went in the water. Tami had a problem with how scared Kesha was to go in the water, but I didn’t see Tami putting her hair up to jump in. Suzie also confirmed that Jenn and Kenya are in fact coming. Tami continued to insult Kesha and act increasingly mean. I like Tami, but she was very annoying and mean spirited towards Kesha all trip.

At lunch Kesha made the mistake of asking too many questions (it did seem a bit odd). Tami did not like the informal interview at all and her built up frustration with Kesha exploded. Then, as Shaunie put it, “Tasmanian” Tami came out on Kesha. Tami flipped out on Kesha because Kesha said that she could have went off on Tami when Tami confronted her, but didn’t. Tami I guess wanted Kesha to be happy she was alive. I honestly didn’t think Kesha was out of line in any respect. She didn’t want to talk to Tami one on one because she didn’t have respect for how Tami handles things and Kesha doesn’t want to get into a fight. That’s not a bad thing. Tami continued to berate Kesha and ask for her to fight back, but Kesha is a normal person and instead wanted to flee the confrontation. The attack was unprovoked and Tami seemed to be showing off by acting tough against the smallest, most timid one of the group. Kesha withdrew from the situation and wanted to leave Tahiti because of the drama.

Maybe Tami was just jealous of all the attention Evelyn was getting for acting so tough this season?

  1. they are bullies, they prey on the weak . Grown ass women the show makes me sick and they need to run into the right bitches. Susie is a BITCH and I prey her day will come.

    • Susie is a big follower. Her having an actual opinion is news to the world. Shaunie O’neal seems like a cool chick, but the fact that she is friends in any capacity with these girls drops her in my book, but then again she is probably just doing it for business purposes. Thanks for the comments. Do you ever watch the La La show? She seems to be the opposite of these women and she is married to a huge NBA star living in New York.
