Season 2, Episode 201 (Season Premiere)

I didn’t catch the first season of Love in the Wild, but am willing to give it a try this season. Back with host Jenny McCarthy, it gives me the feel of Paradise Hotel, do you remember that show?

The first episode was 2 hours and I’ll try to sum it up quickly. 7 men and 7 women all single arrive at the Dominican Republic. We do find out last season’s 1st and 2nd place couples: Samantha and Mike and Heather and Miles are still together – wow, already doing better than 15 seasons of the Bachelor Maybe people can find love on this show?

The ladies and men all line up. Random order drawn, the women get to pick their male partner. Then Jenny introduces another 7 men, the women again get to pick another male, now each team is one girl and 2 guys.

At the first elimination ceremony, 7 men will be eliminated and all women will stay. Before the challenge begins, they are told the order they finish will determine sleeping arrangements, with the 1st place couple getting the best and the last place getting horrible sleeping conditions.

Challenge – collect 3 conch shells at each location. First, one member has to swim out and get a backpack. Summer, yes a girl, kills it and was the only girl to volunteer for the swim task. She takes the lead for her team. Why Mike, the professional lifeguard didn’t volunteer? I have no idea?

2nd location – guys have to lower down the girl into a pit of snacks where they have to dig through sand to get another shell. Shauna and Ryan leave the location without their map and lose time having to go back to get it.

3rd location – Men have to throw coconuts and knock down a tribal mask. The guy who knocks down the mask gets to kiss his girl partner for 5 seconds while the other dude has to film it.

Next, teams have to paddle a sinking boat to retrieve another shell. Again, Summer, the most athletic girl, and her team pull ahead.

Last shell is on top of a pole, entwined with vines. One guy from each team climbs up and brings the shell down and races to the finish line.

Team Summer wins and gets the best living accommodations – staying in the Oasis Room at the resort. Q grabs a kiss.

All living arrangements only have one bed and it is up to the couple how they want to sleep. This shows the gentlemen, the horny girls and aggressive men.

Ali breaks down, hates where she has to sleep and bugs attacking her. Jason tries to help and Darwin just drinks.

Everyone hits the pool and is encouraged to get to know each other.

Winning team gets salsa lessons and both guys fight for time with their lady.

The Couples Choice Ceremony:

Summer, in first place, gets first choice and selects Tim (not her partners Q or Jesse).  We are about to say good-bye to the 7 guys not picked, but Jenny offers the girls one more chance to pick someone else…the guys first get to make a plea to be selected. Tara switches and picks Jesse, the only guy she has never spoken to, that makes sense right? Shauna cries and stays with Ryan. Mike is pissed, thought they had a connection. Ali dumps Jason for Chase.

Final seven couples: Summer and Tim, Yanina and Ken, Tara and Jesse, Cina and Jason E., Shauna and Ryan, Jenny and Ben, and Ali and Chase.
