Buddy got an order for a cake to celebrate a family deli business created in 1967. The cake was to celebrate the grand reopening of the deli and for customer appreciation. Buddy felt a connection to the family because they lost their father and yet kept his dream and spirit alive in the deli. Buddy decided to make a deli case of cake with all types of cheeses and meats. Buddy wanted all the details to look authentic and appetizing. The mostly over weight staff salivated over the mock deli case cake. Fater the delivery everyone cowed down at the deli.

Mary has been doing consultations for cakes and her knowledge about the cakes and flavors has improved a lot. Mary wanted to design her own cake for some of the nieces and nephew communions. She came up with a drawing and kept referring to herself as an “expert”. Buddy wanted to work with Mary’s design and make it look wonderful. Mary then had some fun on the paging system. Mary came in to inspect her cake and despite some critical eyes, she was impressed with the final product. It was a special communion day for the Valastro family and the cake and party were amazing.

Buddy continued to harass Marissa about what is expected in Carlo’s bakery. Buddy then made Marissa shadow him the rest of the day to make sure she was not a weak link. His demanding nature also had some very thoughtful teachings sprinkled in. Buddy’s wife Lisa brought in toddler Carlo and he has grown up so fast.
